Annie Jones Evans Named Executive Director of SouthFair Community Development Corporation

DALLAS – December 2011 – Annie Jones Evans is the new Executive Director of SouthFair Community Development Corporation (SouthFair). An experienced professional with experience in nonprofit management, she originally joined SouthFair in 2004 as the Office Manager under previous director Ted Lawe.

In 2007 Annie became the Operations & Accounts Payable Manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas. There she ensured the smooth operation of its headquarters and 6 other sub-offices for 100+ employees. She was instrumental in relocating its headquarters from Arlington, TX to Irving, TX.

Annie returned to SouthFair in January 2010 to fill the role of Business & Property Manager. Here she was responsible for accounts payable and receivables along with grants and corporate records management, rental property management and maintenance. She was appointed Executive Director of SouthFair in October 2011.

SouthFair is a partner in the Dallas Home Connection collaborative, working side by side with ICDC, EDCO and Builders of Hope. Other partners include Capital One Bank, the Urban League of Greater Dallas, and Enterprise Community Development.

Evans has both a B.A. in Economics and a M.A. in Urban Affairs from the University of Texas at Arlington.  Annie’s areas of interest include nonprofits, urban and social research, social capital and urban history. She enjoys her family life and stays busy chasing her two toddlers.
